Welcome to the Town of Sterling!
Sterling is a small, mostly residential community set in the foothills of Mount Wachusett in central Massachusetts. As the home of Mary Sawyer of "Mary's Little Lamb" fame, we are proud of our agricultural past and present. Centrally located between the cities of Worcester and Fitchburg, residents enjoy our rural atmosphere , easy access to the culture offered by our neighboring cities and outdoor pursuits provided by ample open space and the nearby mountain.

Each year in early September, the Sterling Town Fair  attracts people from far and near who enjoy the many attractions of the fair: horse and oxen pulls, game booths, rides, good food, and music.
